Opening of the sculpture exhibition Beyond The Naked Eye within Plzeň - European Capital of Culture 2015
The opening of the exhibition Beyond The Naked Eye by Romanian artists Alexandra Mureșan, George-Dan Istrate and Gyori Csaba took place on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, 7 p.m., at DEPO2015 in Plzeň.
The exhibition, open to the public until August 30, 2015, represents one of the six events of the Romanian participation in the project Plzeň - European Capital of Culture 2015. The exhibition consists of 9 sculptures from metal, glass and marble, its main theme being “the Questioning of the perception of everyday life”. The artistic works offer the visitor a possibility to start an adventure of senses, where imagination can wander freely. The aim is to provoke new ways of perceiving the immediate reality by exploring hidden meanings.
Several public personalities participated in the opening, among other Mr. Jaroslav Lobkowicz, Member of Parliament of the Czech Republic, Mr. Martin Baxa, Vicemayor of the city of Plzeň and Mr. Jiří Sulženko, Programme Director of Plzeň 2015. A team of the local television channel Plzeňská 1 was present at the event and interviewed the Romanian artists.
