On the occasion of the official visit to Bratislava of Mr. Klaus Werner Iohannis, President of Romania, on November 18, 2015, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague in partnership with the Embassy of Romania in the Slovac Republic have organised an exhibition of Romanian-themed images.
Eight lithographies of the great Romanian graphic artist Octavian Ion Penda (that are in permanent custody of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague) have been displayed in the Habsburg Ballroom I conference hall of Grand Hotel River Park, offering a background for the protocol meeting that the President of Romania had with young Romanian specialists, representatives of the Romanian community in the Slovac Republic. Among the attendees at the event there were high representatives of the Presidential Administration, Ms. Steluţa Arhire, Chargé d'affaires a.i. in the Slovac Republic, and Mr. Ionuţ-Petre Munteanu, Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague.
The contribution of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague in organising this high class event, that showed the very quality of the Romanian public, cultural and scientific diplomacy, was a continuation of the permanent approach to achieve the objectives to present and promote the Romanian specificity in front of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Slovac Republic, to amplify the visibility of the institution in front of the Slovac elite and to support the cultural identity of the Romanian community in the Slovac Republic.
Please find enclosed representative images from the event, some of them capturing the admiration of the Romanian Head of State towards the works displayed.
