The Romanian Embassy and the Romanian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with Romania Levant Association and with the generous support of the French Institute in Saida, are proud to inform you that Romanian language courses will start in Saida on March 25th at the French Institute in Saida.
Romanian is a Latin language spoken by about 30 million people around the world and it is the official language of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Being convinced that language learning is a tool for achieving greater understanding and a key element in the intercultural dialogue between Romania and Lebanon, the Romanian Embassy and the Romanian Cultural Institute decided to start teaching Romanian in Saida. This move comes as an answer to the many requests of citizens of South Lebanon interested to study in Romania, of the business community and of the mixed Romanian-Lebanese families.
The beginner’s level courses will take place in the period of March 25th – June 10th, 2014, every Tuesday from 15:00 to 17:00, at the French Institute in Saida. This 12 weeks program is FREE of charge and it is open to all those interested in learning the Romanian language.
This course follows the standards of the European Language Council. The classes aim at providing the students with an opportunity to learn the Romanian language at a basic level and enable them to answer adequately to different public, professional and private aspects of everyday life situations. With respect to this purpose, the course aims at developing both comprehension and expression abilities at the same time, paying equal attention to all four basic skills of communication: listening and speaking, reading and writing. Last but not least, it is also aiming at establishing a first contact with the rich and old Romanian culture and civilization.
