Wall in My Head with Dan Sociu

The Wall in My Head: Words and Images from the Fall of the Iron Curtain Presented by Words Without Borders and Open Letter Books in collaboration with the Polish Cultural Institute and the Romanian Cultural Institute New York, in the frame of Performing Revolution

To mark the twentieth anniversary of the collapse of the Iron Curtain, and to shed some light on how it came to pass, the online magazine Words without Borders presents The Wall in My Head, an exciting anthology of texts, images, and original documents published by Open Letter Books, that combines work from the generation of writers and artists who witnessed the fall of the Iron Curtain firsthand with the impressions and reflections of those who grew up in its wake.

The anthology features seminal and new works by Mircea Cărtărescu, Ryszard Kapuściński, Dubravka Ugrešić, Uwe Tellekamp, Dorota Masłowska, Dan Sociu, Andrzej Stasiuk, Muharem Bazdulj, Zbigniew Herbert, Peter Schneider, Péter Esterházy, Vladimir Sorokin, Victor Pelevin, and a host of others.
The book launch at Idlewild Books will include a reading with authors from the anthology, with the participation of Dan Sociu, among others.
