European Day of Languages 2016

On September 26th, 2016, between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., the EUNIC Cluster Czech Republic celebrates the European Day of Languages through a series of specific activities, which will take place in Lucerna, downtown Prague.

As in the past years, the cultural institutes involved will provide information about the language courses offered. Also, the visitors will have an opportunity to make conversation in all the European languages participating in the event. 

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague will promote the Romanian language with the help of Ms. Hana Herrmannova, lecturer, who will deliver short Romanian language courses to all the interested visitors.

At the same time, on the official website of the European Day of Languages there will be a quiz about the European languages, where every participating country prepared their own language-related questions.

The event in Prague is organized by the Goethe Institute with the support of all the cultural institutions representing the  Council of Europe conutries in the Czech Republic and is part of a global event initiated by the Council of Europe, aimed to promote plurilingualism. The specific activities are offered to those interested inlinguistic diversity, which is an essential element for intercultural dialogue and one of the main elements of the European cultural heritage. Therefore, all the 47 member states of the Council of Europe organize events, TV and radio shows, language courses and conferences.
