Celebrating Europe Day at the Jerusalem, Haifa and Beer Sheva Universities, May 7, 9 and 14, 2018

Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv and the Embassy of Romania to the State of Israel are proud to invite you to the events celebrating Europe Day, organized at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Haifa University and Ben Gurion University of the Negev, between May 7-14, 2018.

Romania will be present at the events with a national stand, where people can find informative materials and learn about the study opportunities in Romania, as well as the program of the Romanian Language Lectorate at the Tel Aviv University.

Furthermore, people will have the opportunity to find out about the events organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, the Romanian language courses organized by the RCI and will have access to promotional tourist materials focusing on Timișoara – European cultural capital for 2021.

Event program:
Eurofest - May 7th, between 10:00-14:30, Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Organized annually by the European Forum at the Hebrew University, Eurofest brings together students and staff for a celebration of Europe in its unity, although diverse, its culture, history, politics, economics and more. On this occasion, there will be an international panel called "Open Skys", gathering some of the European ambassadors to the State of Israel.

European Market - May 9th, between 09:30-12:30, Haifa University
Europe Day will be celebrated through an event that will reunite representatives of the EU member states in an European Fair, where each participating country will present the study and collaboration opportunities it has to offer. The program will also include an international academic conference called ”Parallel Societies in multi-ethnic and multi-identiarian societies. Living together, living apart in Germany, Europe and Israel”, which will include interventions by Moshe Zimmermann (historian and professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem), Christian Wulff (former president of Germany) and Wilhelm Heitmeyer (sociologist).

Europe Day Fair - May 14th, between 09:30-14:15, Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beer Sheva
The Centre for the Study of European Politics and Society (CSEPS) at Ben Gurion University organizes a series of events dedicated to celebrating Europe Day. One of the central events is the student fair, which will take place from 09:30-14:15 on the campus of the University. During the event, each participating European country will be represented by a national stand. The Romanian stand will be organized by the RCI Tel Aviv in collaboration with the Embassy of Romania to the State of Israel. At the same time, there will be an exhibition and contest of student photos, whose prize will be handed by E.S. Emanuele Giaufret, Ambassador of the European Union to Israel, as well as round-table talks, where students will have the opportunity to meet ambassadors of EU Member States.
