On the 29th of March 2012, 5 P.M., the Romanian Cultural Institute (RCI) in Tel Aviv is inviting you to its headquarters on 8 Shaul HaMelech Blvd, to an event dedicated to the Ladies of the Israeli culture, native of Romania. The meeting will take place whithin the exhibition „The Ages of Beauty”, which comprises paintings and prints by Miriam Cojocaru*.

Within the past decades, the Romanian Aliyah gave important names who became world-wide famous on various fields such us: music, theatre, literature, fine arts. Until now, more than 20 Romanian-born personalities of cultural and scientific life received the Israel Prize, the highest distinction awarded by the Jewish State. Among them: Lya Konig, Reuven Rubin, Lya Van Leer, Reuven Feuerstein, Mendi Rodan, Uzia Galil and Avraham Tal.
Also, as an international acknowledgment of the Romanian born artists in Israel, the actress Rosina Cambos has been nominated together with Cate Blanchett, Melanie Marshall and Amy Morton for the „Helen Hayes Awards 2012 – U.S. A.”.
*Miriam Cojocaru was a researcher and lecturer at the Chemistry Faculty of Bar Ilan University. She studied art at Tel Aviv University and Bar Ilan University, as well as the art institutes Avni and Meimad. She also studied painting and drawing in the studios of Israeli artists Tzwi Tadmor, Jan Rauchwerger and Ira Reichwerger. Her artworks are remarkably vivid and fresh, with strong but refined colors and brush strokes, revealing her strong artistic personality. In the contemporary silhouettes in her pictures, we can identify biblical characters such as Miriam and Ruth, Dvora and Yael, Ester and Iudith.
The exhibition is open for the public from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 and 15:00 hrs.
