
The Puppet Store, a show that became a tradition in the repertoire of the Bucharest National Opera House, is a mixed performance which includes parts of well-known classical ballet shows, like The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Don Quixote, as well as contemporary dances, instrumental music and acting intermezzos. The costumes are made by highly-esteemed Romanian fashion designers.
Established in 1982 at the Bucharest National Opera House by ballet professional Magdalena Rovinescu, „Studio M” Ballet School has charmed Romanian and international audiences over the years. The group has 190 members, 30 of whom having been educated and trained for elite performances. Thus, since 2006, ballet professional Magdalena Rovinescu has been heading international competitions, enjoying standing ovations on renowned European stages, and winning important prizes. The company has been awarded first class distinctions in many prestigious competitions, in Romania and abroad, amongst which the coveted Grand Prix at Neuchatel - Switzerland, Legnano – Italy, Cologne - Germany, Cairo and Alexandria - Egypt, Shanghai - China, Paris - France, New Delhi - India, New York - United States of America, Brighton - England, and Toronto - Canada.
