The Participation of ICR Beijing in the 3rd Edition of the China-CEEC Culture and Art Carnival

????From October 20th to 22nd, the 3rd edition of the "China-CEEC Culture and Art Carnival" took place in Beijing. This festival was organized by the Beijing Bureau of Culture, the Ministry of Culture of China, and the Beijing Municipal Government, with the support of Embassies and Cultural Institutes from Central and Eastern Europe. The Romanian Cultural Institute in Beijing supported Romania's participation, which included the Lupus Dacus band and Tudor-Octavian Victor, a craftsman specializing in painted clay ornaments. Tudor-Octavian Victor conducted a craft workshop throughout the cultural fair.

????In addition to Romania, the festival featured artists and groups from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and more. They presented a variety of performances, craft demonstrations, book exhibitions, wine tastings, and cosmetic exhibitions during the festival. The program also included local artist groups, representatives of national intangible cultural heritage, culinary tastings, fashion shows, cultural exhibitions, and creative markets. These activities were also showcased online through live broadcasts in the Chinese media, including China Daily, The Beijinger, Radio China International, CCTV, CGTV, and more. This carnival was part of the 2023 Liangma He International Arts Festival.

????The concert by the Romanian medieval music band "Lupus Dacus" was particularly well-received by the enormous Chinese audience. The collaboration with the Chinese audience was characterized by rhythm and joy. The band's lead, Marcel Sâpcu, skillfully played various ancient Romanian musical instruments such as the flute, ocarina, bagpipes, and panpipes in quick succession, while being accompanied on the electric guitar by Octavian Logoș and Cristian Vețan, and on the drums by the band's leader, Andrei Moț. Together, they created an electrifying atmosphere among the young audience, with over 6,000 estimated spectators at the concert and more than 30,000 visitors over the two festival days.

????LUPUS DACUS is a medieval music band from Arad, composed of professional musicians who play instruments from several centuries ago. In their nearly 21 years of existence, they have performed at over 650 concerts in Romania and abroad, including in countries such as the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, and France.
