JazzyBIT Concerts at the Blue Note Jazz Clubs Beijing & Shanghai

On November 9th and 10th, 2023, ICR Beijing, with the support of the Timișoara 2023 Association – "Timișoara, European Capital of Culture," the Ministry of Culture, and the Consulate General of Romania in Shanghai, organized two JazzyBIT concerts at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club in Beijing and Shanghai. To promote the event, ICR Beijing also held a press conference on November 9th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the ICR Beijing headquarters in Galaxy SOHO.

Journalists from Radio China International - Romanian language section, Beijing Daily, China News, and The Beijinger were invited to the press conference. In the audience, there were also  first and third year Chinese students studying Romanian at Beijing Foreign Studies University and Beijing Language and Culture University. The press conference lasted for an hour, covering topics such as the "Timișoara, European Capital of Culture" projects, and the initial impressions and expectations of the three musicians from jazz music fans in China.

JazzyBIT's concerts at Blue Note China started on Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m. at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Beijing, located at 23 Qianmen Street, near Tiananmen Square. The Shanghai concert took place in a huge hall in the famous Pudong Hongkou. Both concerts were fully booked, with an enthusiastic and active audience that sang and applauded throughout the evening. JazzyBit presented their latest album titled "Drive." In total, there were around 400-450 spectators. Overall, JazzyBit's presence at Blue Note China was well appreciated by the Chinese audience, organizers, journalists, members of the diplomatic corps, and  H.E. Mr. Dan-Horia Maxim, Ambassador of Romania in P.R China.

JazzyBIT (https://jazzybit.ro/) is a renowned loud jazz trio from Timișoara, consisting of Teodor Pop (piano, keyboards), Mihai Moldoveanu (bass), and Szabó Csongor-Zsolt (drums), active since 2012, offering an energetic blend of jazz and rock, sprinkled with blues, Latin, and funk. The group describes their style as "loud jazz." All About Jazz compares JazzyBIT to the Esbjörn Svensson Trio: "JazzyBIT recalls the Esbjörn Svensson Trio but adds a rock attitude to vibrant harmonies sprinkled with lively melodies." The band has a rich concert activity, with over 250 performances in 10 years. To date, JazzyBIT has performed in 20 countries on three continents, participating in some of the world's most renowned jazz festivals.

Blue Note (http://www.bluenotechina.com/) is the famous international jazz club with locations worldwide (New York, Hawaii, Napa, Tokyo, Rio, Sao Paolo, Milan, Beijing, Shanghai, etc.), known for its intimate atmosphere, legendary jazz performances, and support for young talents. It was inaugurated in China in 2016.
