“Art, education, remembrance” – exhibition dedicated to the National Day of Commemorating the Holocaust, September 18th – October 13th, 2017, RCI Tel Aviv gallery

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv is hosting between September 18- October 13, 2017, the exhibition “Art, education, remembrance” dedicated to marking the National Day of Commemorating the Holocaust.

The exhibition is comprised of painting and graphic art works created during the Dorohoi Painting Camp, which took place between November 21-26, 2016. The works were created by 32 students from art high schools in Bacau, Buzau and Dorohoi, under the guidance of six visual arts teachers.

The works of the young artists reflect, through their ideas and artistic expression, the honoring of the Holocaust memory, the responsibility of the young generation to promote the historic truth, as well as the fight against any form of discrimination against the other, on any ground, being it religious, political criteria or any other gender or race discrimination.

The concept of the exhibition includes three parts: “The Anatomy of suffering”, “Faces” and “Peace”.

The exhibition is open to the public Monday - Thursday 10:00 - 16:00 hrs at Romanian Cultural Institute, Tel Aviv, 8 Shaul Hamelech blvd., 6th floor, as well as during the events organized at the RCI Tel Aviv gallery during this period.

The event if organized in collaboration with the Government of Romania – the Department for Interethnic Relations, The Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania, Filderman Foundation and Tarom Airlines Company.
