Romanian-Chinese Poetic Cultural Exchange Conference
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and China, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Beijing, in partnership with the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), under the coordination of Ms. Liu Yizhe, invites you to the conference "Sino-Romanian Poetic Dialogue" on Thursday, May 30, from 19:00 in the Rixin Auditorium of the BLCU Library. This special poetry symposium is dedicated to consolidating and promoting the study of Romanian language and literature.
This event will bring together distinguished Chinese poets who have visited Romania and have been awarded at various Romanian poetry festivals, as well as Romanian poets. Participants will recite from their literary creations, offering Chinese perspectives on Romania and Romanian perspectives on China. Additionally, the event will feature Chinese students specializing in the Romanian language and Romanian students studying in China.
The invited Chinese poets include:
Bei Ta (Xu Weifeng): Poet, researcher, and translator, executive member and deputy secretary-general of the World Congress of Poets, secretary-general of the Shakespeare Studies Branch of the Chinese Association for Foreign Literature Studies, with numerous publications and international awards.
Gao Xing: Graduate of Beijing Foreign Studies University, editor-in-chief at the Institute of Foreign Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Wang Guilin: Prolific poet with multiple poetry awards, born in the Yimeng Mountains, Shandong.
Zhao Jianhua: Member of the Chinese Writers Association, resident poet at Baotou Technical College.
Shu Dandan: Poet and translator, member of the Chinese Writers Association.
Yang Zhongbing: Editor and poet, with works published in Hong Kong and Romania.
Zhao Lihong: Writer, essayist, and poet, with multiple international poetry awards.
Shao Jianguo: Deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association.
Wang Jiaxin: Renowned poet, critic, and translator, professor at Renmin University of China.
Hei Feng: Senior editor at "Beijing Literature" magazine, researcher at the Institute of Law and Literature at the Central University of Finance and Economics.
Xiao Xiao: Poet and painter, executive editor of several poetry publications.
Yang Ke: President of the Chinese Poetry Society, vice-president of the Guangdong Writers Association.
The Romanian participants include:
Claudiu Florian: Romanian writer and diplomat, awarded the European Union Prize for Literature in 2016, cultural attaché at the Romanian Embassy in China.
Nicoleta Vasilcovschi: Poet and author of poetry volumes in Chinese, awarded in both China and Romania.
George Vulturescu: Romanian poet, journalist, and editor, member of the Romanian Writers' Union, with numerous poetry volumes published.
