The 18th Jeunesses International Music Competition, 7 - 13 May 2011, includes the following discipline: FLUTE.Age category. Applicants must be born in or between the years:
Age category C – born between 1.01.1993 – 31.12.1996
Age category D – born between 1.01.1981 – 31.12.1992
Younger competitors may apply for a superior age category.
The total amount of the awards is 10,000 EUR: cash (in Romanian currency), instruments or scholarships. The prize-winners will have priority in being included in the programmes organized by jmEvents, both nationally and abroad.

The call for entries for first or second time directors' feature films, produced after January 1st, 2009 and eligible for the Transilvania IFF Official Competition, is now open online.We are also looking forward to receiving horror and fantasy shorts no longer than 20 minutes and produced after January 1st, 2009, eligible for the Shadows Shorts competition.
The deadline for shorts' & features' submissions is February 15th, 2011 (post date). The DVDs must be sent in sealed envelopes via courier, on the address of the Romanian Film Promotion Association, mentioning the section the title is competing for.

Contest Many cities such as New-York, Boston and Beijing, benefit from a futuristic vision through the making of movies such as the famous ‘Metropolis’, Blade Runner, and The Fifth Element.
We are interested in innovative and original video-clips of Jerusalem as reflected by different communities around the world. You are cordially invited to submit your futuristic Sci-Fi vision for Jerusalem.
The competition is open to amateur and professional computer graphics and classic animation artists, architects, designers and artists. The final movie product (video clip) may be produced through various techniques.
Contestants will be evaluated and graded by other visitors to the website and by an International professional jury.

Announcement of Winner: December 31st 2010
The winning video clip will entitle its creator to a prize of US $10,000 (subject to local taxes)

Launch of the 2010 – 2012 Call for Projects On 26 February 2010 the Romanian Cultural Institute is launching the 2010-2012 edition of the CANTEMIR Programme, the Institute’s grants programme for cultural projects developed abroad.
The goal of the CANTEMIR Programme is to enhance the visibility and accessibility of Romanian culture in international cultural markets, as well as to encourage cultural co-operation and inter-cultural dialogue between Romanian and foreign artists and organisations.
The Programme is open to foreign and Romanian organisations or authorised private individuals, as well as to Romanian artists (within the Festival Section only), acting independently or as members of an artistic group.
In accordance with the objectives of this programme, the project selection procedure is structured in three sections, each with its own specific eligibility conditions:
SECTION I – FESTIVAL/Culture by Request (open to applicants from Romania only)
SECTION II – PROMOTION/Culture to Go
SECTION III – CO-OPERATION/Culture to Share
ARTISTIC FIELDS
The projects may fall within one or more of the following fields: literature, the visual arts, architecture and design, theatre, music, dance, film, and cultural heritage.
DEADLINES FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECTS
For the SECTIONS PROMOTION/Culture to Go and CO-OPERATION/Culture to Share
The activities for which financing is applied for may run as follows:
a) commencing 15 June 2010 with finalisation by 31 December 2010

c) commencing 15 June 2010 with finalisation by 15 June 2012.

Till May the 20th, beginner writers may register for the second edition of the Literary Debut competition, organised in Bucharest by the Catalist Association, with the support of UniCredit Ţiriac Bank.
The competition comprizes 3 sections: short prose, novel and poetry. In the jury: Romanian critics and academics Paul Cernat, Mircea Vasilescu and Liviu Papadima.
