Art exhibition by Anetta Mona Chişa at Nitra Gallery within the International Theatre Festival in Nitra, Slovak Republic

The 25th edition of the International Theatre Festival in Nitra, one of the most important cultural events in the Slovak Republic, will take place between September 23-28, 2016.

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague supports the participation of artist Anetta Mona Chişa in the Newrope international exhibition organized by Nitra Gallery in collaboration with International Theatre Festival in Nitra, which will be hosted by the Slovak gallery (Župné námestie 3 949 01 Nitra, Slovakia) on September 23 - 24, 2016.

Anetta Mona Chişa and Lucia Tkáčová, who already collaborated for the Romanian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2011, will present a living painting - a representation of a certain object/moment/event in public art.

The theme of both the Festival and the Exhibition is Ode to joy? and revolves around a major event for the Slovak Republic, taking over the Presidency of the Council of Europe. The artistic approach tries to express a series of visions related to the theme. The concept of the festival resides in efforts to maintain a constant dialogue about the European values and the future of art through discussions with experts regarding vital issues that Europe faces.

The artists and works selection was made based on a free presentation - a series of perspectives and trials to disrupt the curator-artist hierarchy. The exhibition, presenting various ways of artistic expression, from drawings to public space interventions - displayed during the festival - will offer multiple answers to the initial question.
