Sorin Neamţu exhibition in Bratislava

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague organizes the art exhibition of visual artist Sorin Neamțu, between April 29 and June 10, 2016, at the AMT_project gallery in Bratislava - a contemporary art gallery with a program that focuses on a unique phenomenon, the relationship between the young artists of today and the generation of those who started their activity in the 70's.

Born in 1977, Sorin Neamțu discovered his artistic vocation from an early age, and, since he was a student, has started to play with concepts and perceptions of reality with the help of  the brush and charcoal. Being tempted by the object opened infinite perspectives for the artist. His installations render all the facets of a subject, in different plans: the object itself, suspended in reality, drawn, in order to have its bidimensional representation, and painted, in order to be expressed in the most subjective manner. All these techniques together aim at showing us the alternative reality that bears the name of that object. In other words, what Sorin Neamţu does in his work field is an internalization approach in which the concrete references are not important, but their figurative interpretations - revealing thus a parallel dialogue between objects and the paintings that talk about them, but in a special language, with ellipses or, on the contrary, hyperboles.

In 2009, Sorin Neamțu, together with Bogdan Vlăduță (painter), founded the Recycle Nest project space, and since 2012 he opened the Baril gallery of the Paintbrushes Factory / Fabrica de pensule in Cluj, together with Tiberiu Adelmann.
