Romania at Language Show

Language Show 2006 is designed to fit the needs of people interested in foreign languages ranging from professionals to amateurs.

At its current edition, 120 exhibitors will take part varying from associations, cultural institutes, publishing houses specialized in dictionaries, embassies and ministries, foreign language schools, language research centers, media, tourism organisations, translators and interpreters, video and television courses, universities and colleges. The show will include 80 interactive presentations, seminars and lectures to be held in 19 different languages. At its 6th edition, The Language Show attracts over 9,000 people each year.

Romanian participation consists of:

1. Exhibition booth organized by Romanian Publishers Association (AER) and supported by Romanian Cultural Institute which will include posters, leaflets, books, CDs with Romanian music and dictionaries. Friday 3 Nov - Sunday 5 Nov 2006, 10.00-18.00

2. Lecture on Romanian wine and its tradition by prof. Sabina Ispas, Director of Romania's Ethnography and Folklore Institute, followed by wine tasting Saturday, 4 Nov 2006, 15.45 - 16.30

3. Informal seminar designed to teach visitors basic Romanian notions and common phrases in an interactive and amusing style. The session will be delivered by Ramona Gonczol-Davies, teacher at School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) Sunday 5 Nov 2006, 12:45.
