The exhibitions “Righteous among nations” and ”The Memory of the Holocaust”. January 17-February 24, 2017, RCI Tel Aviv gallery

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv is hosting, between January 17 - February 24, 2017, a series of exhibitions commemorating the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The opening of the exhibitions will take place on February 2nd, 2017, at 17:00, followed by the screening of the documentary "And tombstones speak...Jewish cemeteries in Moldavia and Bukovina".

With the support of the Embassy of Romania to the State of Israel, RCI Tel Aviv will present at its gallery the documentary photography exhibition "Righteous among nations". This exhibition presents to the public the stories of the Romanian rescuers that were brave enough in order to jeopardize their life to save the Jews from death. As a consequence of their actions, these people received the honor of being "righteous among nations", a title given by the Yad Vashem Institute as a sign of appreciation for their contribution in saving the lives of their fellows and in observing democratic values in times of crisis.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the "Elie Wiesel" National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania and the US Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C.

In collaboration with "Nicolae Tonitza" Visual Arts High School and Public School no.150 in Bucharest, RCI Tel Aviv is organizing the project exhibition "The Memory of the Holocaust".
