Exhibition "Roads to 1989. East-Central Europe 1939-1989" 

Official inauguration: 8 August, Plac Wolnica, Krakow

Open-air exhibition "Roads to 1989. East-Central Europe 1939-1989" presents how East-Central Europe regained its freedom from communist dictatorship. More than 100 photographs, accounts of important events, and excerpts from TV programs are used to tell the story of recovering civil liberties in the communist countries. Different parts of the display are devoted to freedom of speech and expression, freedom of religion and belief, economic freedom, among others.

The exhibition is part of "Freedom Express", a social and educational campaign organised by the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity. So far the display has been presented in Berlin, Brussels, Warsaw, Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, and Bucharest.

Official inauguration of the exhibition in Krakow, Poland will take place on 8 August 2016 at 2:00 pm at Plac Wolnica.

The exhibition will be open till 20 August.
