
The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv and the Embassy of Romania to the State of Israel proudly invite you to the celebration of the Francophonie in Israel through a series of events including the Francophonie Film Week and the Francophonie Fair, which will take place between March 10-18, at the Haifa and Holon cinematheques and the Arab Hebrew Theatre in Jaffa.
During the film week there will be screened, with Hebrew subtitles, films from Romania, France, Switzerland, Canada, Belgium, Cyprus, Ivory Coast, Bulgaria and Greece.
With the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, the film ”Dogs”, directed by Bogdan Mirica, will represent Romania and will be screened as part of the official program of the events at the Haifa Cinematheque on March 13th, at 20:30, and on March 16th, at 20:30 at the Holon Cinematheque.

Synopsis:Roman returns to the land near the border with Ukraine he has just inherited from his grandfather. Fully decided to sell this vast but desolate property, he is warned by the local cop that his grandfather was a local crime lord and his men will not let go of the land - and their smuggling business - without a fight.
The Celebration of the Francophonie in Israel will close with the Francophonie Fair which will take place on Friday, March 17th, between 11:00-14:00 at The Arab Hebrew Theatre in Jaffa (10 Mifratz Shlomo St., Old City of Jaffa, tel: 03 518 5563).
The program of the event will include national stands with informative materials about the history, culture and tourism of the 13 participating countries (Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, France, Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Cyprus, Romania, Greece), as well as a buffet with traditional gastronomic products. The Romanian stand is organized in collaboration with the Romanian Embassy in Israel. Music group Groove Ambassadors will perform a recital during the fair on the Jaffa theatre square from 12:30.
In the same day, from 10:30, in Kedumin Square of the Old City of Jaffa, will take place an art fair with works by francophone artists, as well as a performance of the show ”L’amour dans tous ses états” by La Boheme theatre company (Israel).

The International Day of the Francophonie has been celebrated worldwide each year on March 20, since 1998. The French Embassy and the French Institute, in collaboration with institutions of the various francophone states, are organizing a series of cultural events in Israel, under the title "The Days of the Francophonie". This year, joining France (the French Institute in Israel and the French Embassy) in the celebrations are: Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Greece, Switzerland, Vietnam, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Ivory Coast, the Republic of Congo, Bulgaria, Cameroon and Romania.
