The Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv is inviting you to the book launching of the Hebrew edition of the novel The Book of Whispers, by Varujan Vosganian: on October 11 in Tel Aviv (Tzomet Sfarim Bookstore network, HaSifria store) and on October 12 in Jerusalem (the events hall of the Armenian Patriarchate in Israel). Both events will be attended by the author. The novel The Book of Whispers has been published in June at the prestigious editorial group Hakibutz Hameuchad - Sifriat Poalim Publishing Group, with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute through the program "Translation and Publication Support Programme". The book has been translated into Hebrew by Any Shilon and edited by Anita Peri Sela.

• Thursday, October 11, 2012, 19:00 – Tel Aviv, Tzomet Sfarim bookstore network, HaSifria Store (Dizengoff Center, gate 6, 2nd floor, tel. 03-620.59.86). Apart from Varujan Vosganian, other participants are: dr. Gina Pană – director of RCI Tel Aviv, H. E. Edward Iosiper – the ambassador of Romania in Israel, Irina Cajal Marin- under secretary of state in the Romanian Ministry of Culture, Colette Avital – former member in the Knesset, Avram Kantor –deputy CEO of Hakibutz Hameuchad - Sifriat Poalim Publishing Group , Herzel Hakak – chairman of the Hebrew Writers Association in Israel, Riri Silvia Manor – poet, Any Shilon – translator and Anita Peri Sela – editor. Reading from the book: Varujan Vosganian (in Romanian) and Anita Peri Sela (in Hebrew). The event will take place in English and Hebrew.
• Friday, October 12, 2012, 11:30 – Jerusalem, The Armenian Theological Seminary in the Armenian Patriarchate, The Armenian Quarter in the Old City, tel. 02-628.23.31. The book launching will include greetings by: H. E. The Archbishop Aris Shirvanian – the director of the International and Ecumenical Relations Department of the Armenian Patriarchate in Jerusalem, H. E. Tsolag Momjian – honorary consul of the Armenian Republic in Israel, Irina Cajal Marin- under secretary of state in the Romanian Ministry of Culture, Archimandrite Ieronim Creţu – Romanian Orthodox Church, the Romanian Orthodox Settlement in Jerusalem, Any Shilon – translator, Anita Peri Sela – editor. Moderator: Shamaya Goshen, former director of the Foreign Languages Department, Kol Israel Radio. Reading from the book: Varujan Vosganian (in Romanian) and Anita Peri Sela (in Hebrew). The event will take place in English, Armenian and Hebrew and will be followed by a cocktail.
The events are organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, in collaboration with Hakibutz Hameuchad - Sifriat Poalim Publishing Group, Tzomet Sfarim book store network, the Armenian Patriarchate in Jerusalem and the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Israel.
