Brâncuși around the world

On the occasion of Brâncuși Day, February 19, we open the dialogue with the greatest museums of the world. Inspired from all over the world, the art of the emblematic Romanian sculptor inspired the artists which he had around him.

In exploring the universality of his work, we make the first stop in the USA, in New York, where Matthew Kirsch, Curator of Research at the Noguchi Museum in New York challenges us to rediscover Brâncuși by his influence over the creation of Isamu Noguchi. Fascinated by the search for the essence, the American-Japanese artist translated it not only into sculpture, but also brought it closer to people in public spaces, in the gardens he imagined and in the design objects for homes, thus integrating art in real space and in our daily lives.

The "Brâncuși around the world" is an ArtSociety initiative, made by Art Safari in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York.
