WARMING!

The Earth is heating up. Wildfire danger, floods, spreading disease, malnutrition, land degradation, food and water shortage, risk of significant biodiversity loss through species extinction, these are a few of our least favorite things!

WARMING! is a site-specific project by Romanian artist Aura Balanescu addressing the extreme consequences of global warming in a striking way. The audience will experience the phenomenon through a 3D audio-visual installation that transcends the limits of sculpture.

Born 1969 in Braila, Romania, Aura Balanescu received her BA in Sculpture at the Timisoara West University in 2003. Selected group exhibitions: Welcome to the World of PostJunkfood & Art (H'arta Gallery, Timisoara and Galeria Noua, Bucharest, 2006), Emigrant (Art Museum, Timisoara, 2004), Media, Art & Gender, (Art Museum Timisoara, 2003). Artist-in-residence at ARTINTRANS Gallery, Viena (2007) and Domain National de Saint-Cloud, Paris (2007).
