The International Arts and Crafts Festival, organized by the Jerusalem Municipality, will take place between August 7 - 19, 2017 at the Sultan’s Pool and the “Khutsot Hayotser” Center in Jerusalem.
Within the international pavilion, Romania will be present with a national stand organized with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv. The following artists and craftsmen, representing the Maramures region, will participate from Romania: Nicolas Leș, traditional artist and graduate of the Visual Arts and Design Faculty of the Arts University in Timisoara, Ion Toderașcu, craftsman and graduate of the Visual Arts and Design Faculty of the Arts University in Timisoara, and Dan Carpov, representative of the Tourism Department of the Maramures Council.
As part of the events program of the festival, at the Romanian stand Nicolas Leș will demonstrate traditional pottery techniques, and Ion Toderașcu will demonstrate traditional wood carving techniques.

The International Arts and Crafts Fair in Jerusalem is held at the “Khutsot Hayotser” Arts and Crafts Center, Mitchell Gardens and the Merrill Hassenfeld Amphitheater in the Sultan’s Pool, opposite the Tower of David at the foot of the Old City Walls. This year the Festival is celebrating 42 years of the cultural event that has become a tradition in Jerusalem and the main tourist and artistic attraction of the summer season. Guest artists and artisans from abroad will exhibit their crafts and art objects. The artisans will demonstrate the creative process of their work. Together with the Romanian artists, there will participate with national stands, traditional craftsmen from Uzbekistan, El Salvador, Uruguay, Ecuador, Argentina, Ghana, India, Hungary, Turkmenistan, Madagascar, Macedonia, China, Indonesia, Panama, and Israel.
