Mira returns to a remote Croatian village pregnant, after several years spent in Germany where she fleed from the war. She wants to find a job after her baby is born and start living a normal life. Her family, though, is not willing to accept her being pregant without a husband. They start to pretend she´s a widow and look for a man for her. The family situation gets slightly complicated when a child with Asiatic features is born. Everybody laughs at the family and the grandfather refuses to accept his grandson. An intimate and minimalist drama focuses on the primitive nature of nationalism and traditional stereotypes, still very forceful in the Croatian society. It criticises its shortcomings without mocking it upon any terms.
