The European Day of Languages @ Cervantes Institute

The European Day of Languages gathers each year, on September 26, millions of people in 45 countries. It all started in 2001, with an ambition to advance cultural and linguistic diversity throughout Europe, to promote language learning to all European citizens. Beyond these goals, celebrating European languages is a great opportunity to have a good time! One can choose from hundreds of events taking place all over the continent: theme shows, theatre shows for children, music games, language classes, radio and TV shows and conferences.

This year’s European Day of Languages events in Romania will take place on Saturday, September 29, between 12.00 - 18.00, on the new premises of the Cervantes Institute: one of the most beautiful historic buildings in central Bucharest. The events are organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute, “Vito Grasso” Italian Institute for Culture, British Council, the Polish Institute, Goethe-Institut, Camões Institut, Cervantes Institute, the French Institute, Délégation Wallonie-Bruxelles and the Balassi Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre. The main scheduled events are open language lessons, theme shows, cooking classes, dance classes, language games and karaoke.
