On July 9, meet visual artist Sasha Meret for an exclusive introduction to a selection of new works venturing into completely different media of expression. The works will be on show at the RCINY Gallery for the event and during the book exhibition opening hours.
Sasha Meret's work encompasses a wide range of techniques and styles. He combines painting with printmaking techniques, he works with photography and video, and he recently started to use completely new and surprising materials - all to be revealed, together with their story, at the special event presented by RCINY.
Born in Romania in 1955, Sasha Meret began his art education in Romania. After his arrival in New York, he studied printmaking with Tony Harrison at Columbia University. He currently lives and works in New York City, and he had exhibits in Europe, Japan, China, and the U.S. He collaborated for over two decades as a weekly illustrator with The New York Times, International Herald Tribune and illustrated several books for Harper Collins, Simon and Schuster, Henry Holt and other publishing houses.
