The last episode of our series "History of Romania in One Object", created in partnership with The National Museum of Unification in Alba Iulia and Alba County Council, is dedicated to a very special object: the photo camera that immortalized one of the most consequential moments in our history: the democratic, mass proceedings of December 1, 1918 which decided the modern course and shape of Romania. The photographer, Samoilă Mârza, today rightly remembered as the “photographer of the Great Union”, was more than everyone else the right man at the right time - and with the right equipment! Text and video presentation by historian Tudor Roșu. Film concept by Tudor Roșu and Vasile Sârb.
