The Romanian Cultural Institute in London is happy to present a solo show by British-Romanian visual artist Vinicius Les. Works of painting, ceramics, photography, and drawing will be mounted in the RCI London Gallery, immersing the visitor in the original universe of this much-loved artist. Moreover, the institute's lobby will showcase a larger-scale mixed-media work that will transform the space and resonate with its creator's visual philosophy.

The exhibition's Private View will take place on 13 February, starting at 7:00 PM, in the presence of the artist. It will then be on public view from 5 to 19 February, Monday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Dialogue - Dialog is a celebration of art that transcends traditional boundaries and explores the unlimited possibilities of expression through different media such as sketches, paintings, ceramics and photography which underline Vinicius Les' deep connection with nature highlighting his contemplative approach to it. The artist invites the viewer to see nature beyond preconceptions. The changing landscapes of the two-dimensional paintings and three-dimensional ceramics offer an original perspective, encouraging us to look at nature in a new light and explore the endless possibilities we find within the natural world. From the gestural brushstrokes of the canvases to the intricate details of the ceramics, each piece is a unique manifestation of the artist's creative vision of nature. The ceramic pieces are the result of a meditative process, incorporating the versatility of clay and its ability to adapt to any shape or texture. The sketch-like drawings are focused on exploring different textures, creating shapes that can be either the beginning of new works or stand-alone pieces. These artworks are characterized by their abstract forms and reveal Vinicius Les' spontaneity in the creative process. In the paintings, he juxtaposes layers of colours that transform memories into living landscapes.

Vinicius Les was born in Baia Mare and studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design in Timișoara. He first learned the craft of pottery and later the art of form and colour on volume and two-dimensional surfaces. His creations are deeply rooted in nature and made in a realistic-figurative manner. Since 2012, he has coordinated ceramics and pottery workshops for the general public within several organizations in the United Kingdom. From 2022 to the present, he is a resident of the charitable foundation Horatio’s Garden London & South East. In 2022, he founded Colour and Clay, a ceramics and pottery studio, where he organises pottery classes, workshops, and events that respond to the diverse interests and needs of the local community.
