Contemporary classical music concert at Felicja Blumental Music Centre. Lecture at Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University– Iulia şi Eugen Cibişescu-Duran, Amos Elkana_10.11.2009

On November 10, 2009, Romanian musicians Iulia and Eugen Cibişescu-Duran will perform a selection of contemporary classical music works at Felicja Blumental Music Centre in Tel Aviv. The concert is part of a larger cultural project, a collaboration between the two Romanian musicians and Israeli composer Amos Elkana (their next common project is a concert in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, next year in March).
The list of the works to be performed by the three artists at Felicja Blumental Music Centre in Tel Aviv includes:
Iulia Cibişescu-Duran - Suite for violin solo "7 lyrics by Bacovia"- 3 works
Amos Elkana - Trio for violin, quitar and piano (world premiere)
Iulia Cibişescu-Duran - Sonata for violin & piano no. 2
Amos Elkana - Piece for quitar solo
Iulia Cibişescu-Duran - Trio for violin, quitar and piano (world premiere)

The concert takes place between 20.30-22.00 at Felicja Blumental Music Centre, 26 Bialik St. Tel Aviv

Earlier on November 10, upon invitation from prof. Ruben Seroussi, Coordinator of Composition Studies at Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Iulia Cibişescu-Duran will give a lecture on polimorphic structures in her works, lecture accompanied by audio projections and musical . The lecture is scheduled for 16:00-18:00 at Tel Aviv University.
The events are supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv.


Iulia Cibişescu-Duran, composer, teaches at the "Gh. Dima" Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca. Eugen Cibişescu-Duran plays viola and violin, solo viola at the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca. Amos Elkana is a renowned Israeli composer, whose works have been performed and recorded around the world (www.amoselkana.com).
