The Enescu Society USA in collaboration with RCINY presents, for the first time in New York, emerging pianist Anca Săftulescu, one of the most promising young Romanian musicians.

ANCA SAFTULESCU is born in Bucharest, Romania, in 1985. After graduating from the Bucharest Musical High School "George Enescu", she continued studies – and graduated in 2008 from the National University of Music (Bucharest), with a BA in Piano and Musical interpretation. At the same time – thanks to a scholarship "Erasmus" - she studied in Paris, Musical Interpretation, in the piano-class of Prof. Jacques Rouvier. She also benefitted from master-classes with various visiting professors from Bulgaria, Holland, USA, Poland, Portugal, etc. In 1999 she won 1st prize in the "Maryse Cheilan" competition in France. Among her many prizes and distinctions in Romania were: "National Musical Olympics", International competition "Pro-Piano", National competition "W.A.Mozart". She was also awarded a special prize in the "International Competition Lory Wallfisch" (3rd prize in 2003, and 2nd prize in 2005), and in 2004 she was a finalist in the International competition "Eurovision Young Musicians". In recent years, Anca Saftulescu has concertized (recitals and concertos with orchestras, also on Radio and Television) in Romania. France, and Belgium. This marks her first visit to the United States, as she would like to pursue her further studies in this country.
