Romanian @ Language Show

Language Show 2007 is designed to fit the needs of people interested in foreign languages ranging from professionals to amateurs.

At its current edition, 130 exhibitors will take part varying from associations, cultural institutes, publishing houses specialized in dictionaries, embassies and ministries, foreign language schools, language research centers, media, tourism organizations, translators and interpreters, video and television courses, universities and colleges. The show will include 80 interactive presentations, seminars and lectures to be held in 20 different languages. At its 7th edition, The Language Show attracts over 10,000 people each year.

The Romanian Cultural Institute takes part by organizing:

  • Exhibition stand that will include posters, leaflets, books, CDs with Romanian music and dictionaries. Plus quiz & raffle with beautiful books prizes! Friday 2 Nov - Sunday 4 Nov 2006; 10.00 -18.00
  • Informal seminar designed to teach visitors basic Romanian notions and common phrases in an interactive and amusing style. The session will be delivered by Ramona Gonczol-Davies, teacher at School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) Friday, 2 Nov 2006; 11.15 - 11.45
  • Story telling and puppetry with Monica Madas, Romanian puppeteer and jazz singer. She and her puppet Lily will tell various stories in/about the "sweet Romanian language". Saturday, 5 Nov & Sunday, 6 Nov at 11.00; 13.00; 15.00
