International Children’s Day

A Joyful Celebration for the Whole Family for International Children's Day

For International Children's Day, with the help of the Romanian Cultural Institute in London and the Embassy of Romania to the United Kingdom, The Library at Willesden Green will transform into a vibrant hub of color, music, and imagination, where creativity knows no age limit! 

Therefore, we are calling all little artists, young dancers, budding musicians, curious minds, and their wonderful grown-ups to join us for a fun-filled day for children of all ages – and their grown-ups too. 

This joyful event brings together music, dance, pottery, storytelling, face painting, and two interactive workshops designed to delight children and grown-ups alike.

The event is free of charge and open to everyone, whether you speak Romanian, English, or the universal language of joy!

What’s on the programme:

1 – 4.30pm 

  • Craft activity- Children’s Library (break at 2-2.30)

2-2.30pm:

  • And lots of books, stories and laughter, right in the heart of the library! Storytelling by the Romanian Cultural Institute Director, Aura Woodward– Children’s Library (ground floor)

1-4 pm:

  • Magical face paintingwith Bianca Topor, who will beready to turn little faces into lions, butterflies, clowns, superheroes or anything in between! – Family area (ground floor)

2:30-4 pm:

  • A hands-on pottery cornerled by ceramicartist Vinicius Leș –get your hands dirty and your imagination soaring! – Education Room (Second Floor)

3- 4.15:

  • A special choral & instrumental concert –A Celebration in Soundperformed by the talented young singers and musicians of Allegretto Music Academy in London, led by conductor Cornelius Orășanu. – Performance Space (First floor)
  • A musical workshopwhere children can discover how music comes to life – and even sing along! – Performance Space (First floor)
  • A mini-introduction to musical instruments – guitar, violin, and keyboard – presented by the young musicians. – Performance Space (First floor)

4.15-4.30:

  • A graceful moment of ballet with ballerina Daria Ene followed by a small introduction in the universe of this excellent form of dance – Performance Space (First floor)
